Be as you are
The mind is a desert, she tells us, full of questions. The heart is a garden full of answers. And our true being is beyond both. In that complete state of innocence there are no questions and no answers, no concepts, no words.
We can monitor our progress toward the garden by how we feel. Are we more quiet, more calm? Or more agitatied and distraught? As we practice the language of silence, we can be assured that the knowledge we gain is a gift to all.
Shri Brahmananda says it so simply. According to Joan, he would often inscribe a book with the words “Be as you are.” What could be more achievable? What a relief to know that we are already that which we seek to be.
